2025: new year, new possibilities!

ON behalf of my fellow councillors and the Wentworth Shire, I wish all residents and visitors within our magnificent region a happy and healthy new year!

2025, like most other years, will be sure to bring its share of challenges and growth, setbacks and triumphs.

If you have a choice in the matter, choose happiness!

Let us all take a moment to smell the roses, listen to the birds, take a walk by the river – value all that we already have.

We are blessed to live, work, and play in such a beautiful part of Australia.

The past year has certainly been a busy one, and at this stage 2025 appears likely to be just as hectic I’m sure.

To all those in business I wish you prosperous trading, to those with a mortgage I hope you see an interest rate cut

To those growing all our wonderful produce I hope you find profitable markets, to the graziers and cockies I hope you receive timely rains.

For those who are working we thank you, and for those who are retired I hope you find time for that extra round of golf, jigsaw puzzle with the grandies, or amazing bucket-list adventure.

To all students who have completed year 12 I wish you all the best as you embark on work, an apprenticeship or further education in 2025.

To those of you moving to another city for university make sure you travel back home regularly and bring your new mates – show off what a fantastic part of the world we live in.

To those who have had a great year, perhaps an even better one beckons; to those who are looking forward to drawing a line under 2024 – now is your time

Whatever your situation, whether your dreams are modest or marvellous, I wish each of you a fulfilling and fun-filled year ahead.

Happy New Year – make 2025 your best year yet!
