THE Mildura branch of camping and outdoor adventure store Aussie Disposals will be closed by the end of the year.
The store first opened locally in 1987 and has been owned and operated since 2011 by Jason Cook, during which it has weathered the highs of moving from the Langtree Mall to a bigger location, and the lows of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Being a locally owned and run business for so long, providing a great range of products and quality service I think is the real credit to how we’ve been able to keep going for so long,” he said.
“Things have just gotten to the stage where I’ve started considering getting out of the retail space, the cost of living has had an understandable effect on everyone while at the same time the expenses of running a business have gone up.
“It’s been really great serving the community over the last 14 years, hearing from our customers about all of the adventures they were taking and helping MASP with their Kokoda trips, but now it’s time to tackle something new.
“I’m really grateful and want to say a big thank you to everyone in the community who have been so supportive and helped keep us going. The messages of support we’ve received since announcing the news have been so kind.”
Aussie Disposals will be running a final clearance everything must go sale from now until the end of business later in the year.
