Irymple hellbent on redemption

The Irymple Suns will be hoping to overturn a convincing defeat to Red Cliffs when they meet at the Cauldron in the match of the round tomorrow.

Red Cliffs scored a resounding 16-shot victory over the Suns in round 2.

The rink draw will play a crucial part in deciding the result.

Michael Clifford’s rink scored a 19-shot win over Chris Madigan, which played a significant role in the overall round 2 result.

The Suns Graeme Lynch ís undefeated after six rounds and will be looking to keep his rink’s unblemished record.

Played at Irymple the Suns will start favourites.

Mildura travel to Blackburn Park to tackle Ouyen. The Magic had a solid victory first time around and will be looking to collect the points to stay in touch with the top-of-the-table Irymple.

Two Blues skips Alan Crook, Mick Donaghy and Janet Vallance are solid draw shot bowlers and can wreak havoc when on song.

The Magic have shuffled their rinks for this match and will be looking for a more consistent performance across all.

This will be a tight contest with the Magic getting home by a narrow margin.

Workers travel to Kenny Park to do battle with the Merbein Hawks.

After losing to Ouyen at home last week the Green and Gold will be up and about looking to right the boat.

The fact that Merbein have won more games than both Workers and Ouyen but sit outside the four is a blemish on the points system allocated for each match.

Each rink win scores two points and the overall team win scores six, making for a total of 12 points per match. The Hawks at home will win and take their place in the four.

Division 2 matches see Workers at home to Irymple.

The Suns are on the rise and should take the points.

Ian Kellett, George Millward and Ian McLean have been combining well for the Suns and will be up and about.

The Workers unit will be pressing for a win to stay in touch with the four.

Nangiloc host top side Coomealla.

The Cannons have been on target this season sitting on top of the table.

Tomorrow’s game will be a real danger game for them.

Nangiloc are a tough side to beat at home and with a full complement to select from could cause an upset.

Ouyen match up against Mildura at Blackburn Park.

The Magic should be too strong for the Two Blues.

Division 3 top side Wentworth will be firing up the boiler early to build pressure to ensure the wheels on the Steamer turn quickly from the get-go.

Alan Behsmann is the top-ranked player in Division 2 and will be paddling to keep his team on top. Wentworth to win at home.

Workers 3 at home to Irymple will be searching for a much-needed win to stay in touch with the four.

The Suns are only a point shy of the four and will be equally on the hunt for a win.

Suns to shine.

Second-placed Euston travel down river to Mildura and will be hurting after losing to Underbool last week by a solitary shot.

Doug Brown, Shane Ryan and Phil Cattanach are all in the top 10-ranked players in Division 3 and will bring some solid fire power to the table.

Mildura will need to produce some real magic to get over the Bandits.

Underbool sit outside the four only on shot difference and will seek to collect the points over Red Cliffs. At home the Bool to win.

Fourth Division Irymple take on Mildura 5.

Both sides are in the four, equal on points, sitting third and fourth respectively.

Both need a win to gain some breathing room in the four. The Suns at home to win in a nail biter.

Euston 2 tackle Mildura 4 at the OK Corral. Mildura to win.

Underbool welcome the top side Coomealla Cannons to the Reserve.

A home game for the Bool will see them start favourites over the ladder leader.

Having only dropped one game for the season the Cannons will be up and about pressing to continue their vein of form.

Red Cliffs 3 tackle Euston 3. Both have been struggling to string together a winning run. Euston to salute.
