VETERANS
There is a little over three weeks until the next district event for veteran golfers gets underway. For the first time this year, we are travelling to Red Cliffs who are hosting the Best Price Golf single Stableford event. The date is Monday, June 5 and the time for the commencement of registration is 8.30am. As always, it is a wise move to pre-book your hire cart as soon as possible by contacting the club early.
The course is in excellent condition at the moment and is a credit to the club and its members. This is in part is a result of the club’s volunteers who continually implement a maintenance program. Added to that is the generous use of water which has resulted in the greens and fairways looking their very best. The event and the club are popular with veteran golfers and as a result a good field is expected. Their warm welcome and the generous lunch adds to the appeal of the day.
With recent closures of some district clubs after flooding more players have become familiar with the course and it has been a favourite second home for many. The club needs to be thanked for their support while other clubs are needing time to repair their own courses.
So the club is supportive, the course is well prepared, the members are keen and we have a new sponsor to meet, so let’s get behind the day.
