Fox on the run

ADRIAN Fox has been selected as the 2025 Community Bank Merbein & District 97.9 Triple M Northern Mallee Sports Star of the Year for the month of June.

Fox was nominated by Sunraysia Volleyball.

Following months of dedicated training and trials, Fox earned selection into the 2025 Melbourne Vipers squad—Victoria’s senior representative team competing in the Mahindra Australian Volleyball League (AVL).

The Vipers, made up of the top talent from the Victorian Volleyball League, play in a modified AVL format, where all matches are played to five sets, sets are played to 18 points, and each team has three “powerplays” per match—doubling points for the next three rallies.

Earlier in June, Fox travelled with the Sunraysia Division One Men’s team to compete at the Volleyball Victoria Country Championships in Bendigo.

Entering as the reigning champions, the team competed at a high level all weekend, with Fox playing a large majority of sets for the weekend.

The team ultimately came up short in a thrilling five set battle against Bendigo – going down by only two points in the last set.

Fox also makes a significant impact at local level, winning the most recent A Grade season with Mildura Royals, serving as a committee member for Sunraysia Volleyball, coaching the women’s and men’s training sessions for Sunraysia Volleyball, and coaching the Sunraysia Academy of Sport volleyball program.

As the June winner, Fox received a voucher proudly sponsored by Intersport and is now eligible for the 2025 Community Bank Merbein & District 97.9 Triple M Northern Mallee Sports Star of the Year Awards to be held on Friday February 20, 2026, at the Club Da Vinci, Mildura
