A FREAK storm has ripped roofs from a Sixteenth Street home's carport and alfresco area, its tornado-like winds propelling one structure 200m down the road, cutting power lines and narrowly missing passing cars.

Bindi Fawdry told Sunraysia Daily that his family was hosting a birthday celebration on Monday night when the storm struck without warning.
