It's with profound sadness and grief we say farewell.... The depth of your loss is only matched by our collective gratitude of having known you. You lit up the room every morning you entered our premise with an exquisitely dazzling, way too colourful bow tie that matched your smile, wry wit and entertaining larger than life personality. You began with a lame attempt in your posh Yorkshire accent to greet our Italian friend with a boisterous "Buongiorno" followed by "Good morning dear Sir, can I have my coffee with cream please". We will miss this – we will miss you! Your life touched the hearts of many in our community and for that we honour you. Your smile and genuine warmth infected the hearts of everyone who were blessed to have met you, and for that we thank you. You leave this world a better place for having you with us, for that we are eternally grateful. With all our love, prayers and deepest sympathy we, along with so so many others in our great town, our hearts go out to John's beautiful family.
