THE slow train journey from Melbourne to Mildura has sold out once again for its third and final trip of the year.

Slow Rail Journeys vice president Matt Lucas said he could never have predicted the high demand for the service.

"It's all been very positive," he said. "The demand for Mildura has just blown us away.
