Train and road delays to and from Melbourne

COMMUTERS on public transport to and from Melbourne are being urged to allow an extra hour for their journeys ahead of trackwork and disruptions this weekend.

Coaches are set to replace trains on the Bendigo/ Swan Hill/ Mildura services between Southern Cross and Bendigo from tonight until the last service on Sunday.

The replacement busses will be a mix of express and stopping all stations services.

Coaches will depart Southern Cross up to 25 minutes earlier than usual train times, and passengers should allow up to an extra 60 minutes for their journeys.

Later in September there will be further disruptions to those travelling to Melbourne but this time via road.The M80 Ring Road to the West Gate Freeway ramp closes from 9pm Friday September 6 with an expected reopening at 5am Monday September 23.
