THE month of July is full of tournaments for winter tennis in the Sunraysia region.

On Saturday, July 5, the Sunraysia District Tennis Association Junior Doubles Tournament was held.

The A Grade section was split into two cards of three and was dominated by Cooper Young and Antonio Daniele who went undefeated throughout the tournament.

The duo won this section’s final 6-0 against Aaron Williams and Nate Hogarth.

Tami and Tomi Fanoiki also claimed a dominant victory in the A Grade girls’ section, overcoming Layla Searle and Nevae Strangio (6-2).

The B Grade Mixed section was packed, with seven teams competing in a round robin draw.

Samuella and Jessica Allieu were triumphant throughout all of their matches in this grade, only accumulating seven games against (24/7).

Ethan Davis and Derek Gardiner were close runners up in the B mixed section, finishing with 22/11.

Nicholas Keens and Archie Torney were unstoppable on the day with a dominant performance that saw them only accumulate one game against in the C Grade Mixed draw (24/1).

The D Grade mixed was a smaller section, with only three entrants.

Maeli and Diesel Kehl went undefeated in this draw, narrowly beating Zac White and Victoria Pedler 6-5 to come out on the top of the card with a total score of 12/10.

The next major SDTA event is the senior doubles and junior singles tournaments, both set for July 19 at the Aerodrome Oval Tennis Courts.
