Anyone for tennis?

THE popularity of tennis is growing at Mildura West Primary School, reflected by a Mega Day which was held at the Mildura Lawn Tennis Club on Thursday.

MWPS teacher and tennis coach Bill Madafferi coordinated the event which gave grade three to six students a chance to learn and develop their skills.

Teacher Joe Cavallo hailed the day as a success and said he hoped it would continue annually.

“It was a great day, we’re lucky to have Bill Madafferi as a staff member but he’s also a tennis coach in the region,” he said.

“It’s a great resource down there that we just don’t utilise enough.

“It’s definitely gaining in popularity, at the school you notice that, especially with Bill around.”

After a day spent rotating between activities, the day was capped off with a sausage sizzle.
