Morris takes out Merbein junior tennis title

TAGUE Morris had to survive a thrilling super tie-break to take out the under-18 boys title at the Bendigo Community Bank Merbein Junior Tennis Tournament at the weekend.

Morris overcame a determined Jack Burford to win the marquee event of the day, taking out the Merle Watson Perpetual Shield for the 18-and-under champion.

The tournament attracted a record field of 50 up-and-coming tennis players, who took advantage of the perfect winter conditions at the Sacred Heart/St Andrews tennis courts.
