Hards falls but Nichols Point still win

A serious calf injury to new Nichols Point recruit Colby Hards didn’t stop them from getting the points against Alcheringa Aces in their Premier League match on Saturday.

Hards was forced to withdraw from his final doubles match after tearing his right calf, handing Alcheringa the set and leaving the final singles match to decide the outcome.

Ben Galbraith got the job done for the Pointers, winning 7-5, 6-3.

In other games,  Jai Green led new team Sarnia Surprises to victory over Sarnia Supersonics.

Green finished with 27/15.

In the other match, St Andrews Stingers were too strong for reigning premiers Red Cliffs Reds, who were without No.1 player Bill Madafferi, who was out with an elbow injury.
