Workin’ Moms, Season 3 review: Award winning

By Sydnie Kendall

Genre: Comedy

Where to watch: Netflix

Cast: Catherine Reitman, Dani Kind, Juno Rinaldi

Creator: Catherine Reitman

WORKIN’ Moms follows a group of mums and their trials and tribulations of raising families and working on their professional careers simultaneously.

In its third season, it continues from the fallout for the protagonist Kate, who’s left reeling after the revelation of her partner’s infidelity.

Rather than reducing the whole scenario to a melodramatic area, it shows surprising nuance in portraying this fractured relationship within the show, showing the fallout from both sides, and how it stretches over time.

Above all else, it is incredibly hilarious, with a particular shining light on Anne and her partner, with a beautiful dynamic between the two.

The friends’ relationship only grows and their natural chemistry on screen is one of the continuing highlights for the show.

The writing and comedy is on point as always, with multiple laugh out loud moments on all episodes.

The thing that makes this show so great is the fact that there is such an essence of realism about it.

Nothing quite sums up the trials and tribulations of motherhood quite like this show and it is a joy to behold on screen.

To sum up: Continues on as a strong television show that demands its place as an award winning and bold piece of filmmaking.

Rating: Four stars
