Preparing your home

Mildura’s home staging gurus Grace Dowell and Chloe Bell from Ebony and Fleur are no strangers to what it takes to transform an ordinary property interior into an enviable and welcoming space. After recently selling their own homes, the pair discovered they both shared a unique love for interior styling and design which led them down the path of offering their creativity to the rest of the community. Colour, texture and style are three elements that contribute to boosting that “first-impression” according to the girls who spoke with Lauren Adcock about seeking inspiration, embracing challenges and achieving incredible outcomes.

Finding inspiration…
IT’S no secret that presentation of a home is one of the most important keys in attracting buyers to look through a property for sale.

Chloe says the presentation of a home was also important in evoking an emotional reaction from buyers.

“It’s key to evoking an emotional response in the widest possible audience and helps achieve the highest price for the vendor, “ she says.

“Staging creates an inviting home that the buyers will fall in love with, it’s about creating the ‘ahh’ and ‘wow’ factor.

“It gives the buyer a clear vision for the home, so they can imagine their new life in the home, rather than being distracted by the existing lifestyle.”
But getting to this “wow” factor point is where Chloe and Grace step in.
Chloe says their inspiration came from each unique property rather than adopting the same style for each job.

“Not only do we find our inspiration in each home, we also enjoy going through furniture and home decor stores, along with reading magazines and scrolling through social media, “ she says.

“We compliment each other well with style and practicality, as well as
having the advantage of a team effort when faced with new challenges so we were ready for our new adventure together.”
