Country Music Festival 2024

Apex Riverbeach Holiday Park

CELEBRATE country music with fellow enthusiasts and holidaymakers. There will be free entry to the public, with music from 10am to 6.15pm, and daily prizes awarded to walk up artists. The line up will include KC Lacourse, Christine Clifford, and Don Costa. Sunraysia Orchid Club Spring Show

Mildura Central – 9am-5.30pm

COME along to see magnificent displays of blooming orchids, with many available for sale from local growers. Club members will also be on site to offer potting demonstrations, and offer advice from a combined wealth of knowledge on orchid care.

Creedence Clearwater Collective

Mildura Arts Centre – 7.30pm

CELEBRATE the unique sound of Creedence Clearwater Revival with a travelling band covering the songs from their 1968 debut album to their final 1972 record, and more in-between. Tickets are limited, and can be accessed by visiting the MAC Box Office or website.


SATURDAY

Sunraysia Farmers’ Market

Jaycee Park – 9am-12pm

EXPERIENCE good food direct from the region’s producers right next to the mighty Murray River, including breakfast prepared fresh from stallholder’s produce. There is also nearby access to a playground that provides activity, and entertainment for children.

2024 Sunset Nationals

Sunset Strip – 10am-5pm

ROUND 2 of the Australian National Drag Racing Association Sportsman Series will see categories such as Super Street, Junior Dragster, Supercharged Outlaws, and more. Competitors will fight to gain points, and be crowned Australian Champion. Entry for Under 16’s is free.

Gliding in Sunraysia

324 Sheoak Ave, Koorlong – 12.30pm-5pm

TAKE to the skies on a passenger flight in a modern two seat glider. Anyone interested is welcome to turn up at the club field, though further information can be found by contacting 0427 725 171.

Youth Only Screening – Harold and the Purple Crayon

Wallis Cinemas – 1pm-4pm

INSIDE his book, Harold can make anything come to life just by drawing it, taking him off the book’s pages and into the real world. But when this power of unlimited imagination falls into the wrong hands, it’s up to Harold and his friends to use this creativity to save both the real and book worlds. Through a partnership between Wallis Cinemas, Hands Up Mallee, and Homebase this fully supervised event is open to moviegoers aged 10 to 17 only. Free popcorn, and art activities in the cinema foyer before the movie screening will be included. Parental consent is required for the attendees to see the PG rated film. Schubert’s Trout Quintet

Mildura Arts Centre – 4pm

WORLD-CLASS pianist Stefan Cassomenos will be joined by members of the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, including Artist Director and violinist Sophie Rowell. The concert itself will be opened with a performance of Johann Hummel’s First Piano Quintet, which is said to be the inspiration for Schubert’s Trout Quintet. Just A Farmer Screening

Wallis Cinemas – 7pm

PREPARE for an emotional rollercoaster of a movie, following newly widowed Alison as she tries to manage a struggling form, while balancing the challenges of becoming a single parent, with an alcoholic father-in-law. The film explores themes of love, loss, and the unbreakable spirit of farming communities, inspired in-part by lead actor, writer, and producer Leila McDougall’s own personal experiences on, and around farms. The screening will also include a Q&A panel with Leila McDougall, as well as Mates Incorporated’s Corey Iredale, The Unbreakable Farmer Warren Davis, and more. Spring Airing of the Quilts

SUNRAYSIA Patchwork Friends invites anyone interested in a delicious Devonshire tea and some colourful quilts of all sizes displayed in honour of an international springtime tradition. There will also be a door prize raffle, and hand crafted goods made by members available for purchase.

Mildura Settlers Cricket Club/Mildura Senior College Oval – 10am-2pm

The Robertson Brothers – 1960s Variety TV Show

CHEEKY hosts Geoff and Ben Robertson are bringing their Kings of Variety Television to Mildura following their sold-out national tour in 2023. Enjoy an afternoon of nostalgic entertainment as the brothers pay homage to 1960’s musical giants including The Beach Boys, The Monkees, Frankie Valli, John Farnham, and more.
