Police investigate Mildura house fire

A FIRE that engulfed a vacant house in central Mildura on Wednesday is being treated as suspicious.

Two fire trucks from Mildura fire station and a crew of Country Fire Authority volunteers rushed to the scene on Ruby Avenue shortly after 10am.

A Fire Rescue Victoria spokesperson said the house was well alight when firefighters arrived.

“Fire crews worked at the rear side of the property to contain the blaze,” the spokesperson said.

The fire was declared under control about 10.30am.

The spokesperson said no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was under police investigation.
