A look at the netball grand final contests

13 & Under Division 1: South Mildura v Ouyen United

They might be some of the youngest netballers taking the court on grand final day, but South Mildura and Ouyen United will be giving their all to claim the premiership. Mayne Medal winner Leticia O’Shannessy from Ouyen United is set to be a standout.

13 & Under Division 2: Irymple v Red Cliffs

These two sides met most recently in the semi-finals, when the Swallows narrowly won by five goals.

Irymple’s Ashlyn Pumpa, who claimed the division’s Byrnes Medal, will be a player to watch.

15 & Under Division 1: Mildura v Irymple

It could go either way in this clash, given the Swallows and the Demons have each had a win and a loss against each other throughout the season. Irymple’s Annabella Kennedy will be one to watch, as she claimed the Healy Medal for this season.

15 & Under Division 2: Irymple v Robinvale Euston

When the Swallows and the Eagles last met each other in the semi-finals, there were only three goals in as Irymple narrowly claimed the win.

But the Eagles should not be underestimated, and will be eager to prove they can come out on top in the pinnacle match.

17 & Under Division 1: Mildura v Wentworth

It has been a tough battle between the Demons and the Roos throughout the season, with Mildura always just getting a win by a small margin during the home-and-away fixtures.

Wilson Medal winner Lola McInerney will play the first of two grand finals for the day, as she is also set to be a sub in the Roos’ A Grade side.

17 & Under Division 2: Ouyen United v Imperials

It could be a tough day on the court for the Imps, as the last time they played the Kangas in round 17, they went down by 16 goals. However, a strong finals campaign could see them bounce back.

Ouyen United’s Maddison Plant was the recipient of this year’s Mentiplay Medal and will be one to keep an eye on during the game.

C Reserve: Wentworth v Irymple

These two sides haven’t met since in round 17, when the Roos earned themselves a hard-fought win by five goals.

The Swallows had a slow start to their finals campaign, losing their first qualifying match to Imperials. But after a strong couple of weeks, they should be ready to hit the court running.

C Grade: Wentworth v Irymple

When the Swallows and the Roos last met in the semi-finals, Wentworth claimed the win by just a single goal. Irymple will be out to go one better when the two sides meet again today.

B Grade: Wentworth v Robinvale Euston

In round 18 when the Roos and the Eagles last met, Wentworth took home the win by only two points. The Roos will be hoping to keep that momentum and claim a back-to-back premiership. Walder/Hyder Medal winner Abigail Rowe will be one to watch for the Roos.
