WITH five rounds remaining in the Millewa A Grade netball season, the final four looks just about set unless some late surprises are sprung.
Werrimull and Bambill continue to lead the pack with eight wins, a loss and a draw each, with Nangiloc affirming their position in third place 10 points behind, and Cardross another win adrift.
As the rain came down across the district all players battled the elements.
Since their first round loss to Nangiloc, Bambill are unbeaten in nine games as they continued their form against Cardross.
The Lions brought their best to the Saints at Mildura Senior College but the home side had too much, in the end winning 47 to 34.
Samantha Garraway’s strong form continued as she, Ebony Roberts and Kaylie Monaghan were all important players in the victory.
Tamara Hamence, Christina Villiva and Brylee Milner were the top performers for Cardross.
Werrimull’s strong form continued as they broke their own mark for the highest score of the season against the winless Gol Gol at Lake Cullulleraine.
After reaching 70 goals twice this season, the Magpies went even better, sinking 73 goals to Gol Gol’s 34.
Maddison Maher, playing coach Anna Thomson and Aislinn Campbell were superb for the home side who are building nicely as the season has gone on.
For the Hawks, coach Meg Newey, Suzi Nitschke and Jessemy Thornton were their better players.
Nangiloc are now clear in third place after securing a solid 16-goal win over Meringur on their home deck.
Following a loss to Bambill last week the Demons got back on the winner’s list with an important 48-32 result.
Gabrielle Gardner, Maddy Price and Kristy Middleton were the home side’s best players, while Teagan Pettigrew, Kim Harlock-Knights, in A Grade game 150, and Emily Gleeson were the best for the Roos, who remain three games outside the top four.
