Swallows top best and fairest awards

IT was Irymple’s night on Wednesday as Swallows netballers took out six of the nine SFNL best and fairest awards for this season.

With the A Grade Horkings Medal being counted on Monday alongside the senior McLeod Medal, the other netball grades saw their individual league leaders named during the week.

Irymple’s Tarlia Couzner finished on top of the B Grade Walder/Hyder Medal with 26 votes, just two ahead of Ouyen United’s Katherene Carusella, with Leah Baynes (Irymple) and Abby Rowe (Wentworth) next on 17.

Irymple’s Jo Haynes became a multiple-time winner of the C Grade Hickey Medal with 30 votes, ahead of teammate Brooke Shelly on 25 and Mildura’s Grace Morganti on 23.
