Cardross have new confidence

Finally hitting the court with a win under their belt, Cardross are confident and ready to face the rest of the season.

Before last week’s bye, Cardross secured a one-goal win against Gol Gol at Carramar Drive.

It was their first win of the season after several close games.

The win saw Cardross finally escape from their bottom-placed position and overtake Meringur, who also have one win this season.

Now facing Meringur, Cardross co-coach Ebony Greenhill said the team had a new level of confidence.

“Obviously we had been hoping for (the win) a bit earlier on but we just hadn’t had our right team and in our right positions, but now it is all sorted and moving forward, hopefully, we can get another win,” she said.

Greenhill said Cardross would have its full team on the court and were hoping to come back stronger following the bye.

She expected this weekend’s game to be “tough” but said she it was good that every team had returned competitively this season.

Meanwhile at Nangiloc Oval, Gol Gol, who have two wins and a draw, will be aiming to pick themselves up after the close loss to the Lions, as they face ladder leaders Nangiloc.

The Demons have now faced their first loss of the season, defeated by second-placed Werrimull before the bye.

Werrimull will take on Bambill at Lake Cullulleraine, bringing with them some extra confidence after the win.

They will be eager to steal Bambill’s second spot on the ladder after only losing by five goals the last time the pair met.
