THE establishment of a Rugby Union competition involving Victorian Murray River towns is gaining traction ahead of a potential start next year.

Mildura Rugby fans will get first-hand exposure to the sport at the inaugural Sunraysia Rugby Carnival at Mildura Sporting Precinct on Saturday, which will feature the Mildura Warriors.
