DIRT-BIKE racer Chloe Barton is building towards her best-ever Hattah Desert Race now that she's checked the gruelling Finke event off the list last weekend.

South Australian Barton, 19, came 14th in Class Four and was 366th overall in her first attempt at the marathon Northern Territory odyssey.
