BY the numbers, this weekend's Mildura 100 ski-racing event is staggering.

It's the world's fastest ski race, with a top speed capped at 190km/h over the 50km course, from Mildura Ski Club to the Wickets point turnaround on the Murray River.

Across the weekend, there will be nearly 150 boats (with crews of 4-5 people), making for in excess of 600 participants.
