Number one Aussies claim Gates Cup AUSTRALIAN Speedway sidecar champions Mark Plaisted and Ben Pitt have taken the chequered flag in their first Olympic Park event since becoming the nation's number one team.

South Australian Plaisted and Mildurian passenger Pitt's machine proudly displayed the number one as they finished in that exact position of the Gates Sidecar Cup final on Saturday night.
