TWO former Hattah Desert Race champions are out to conquer one of the world's toughest endurance races, the Dakar Rally.

Taking place in Saudi Arabia, 'The Dakar' began on Saturday and will finish on January 14 with competitors taking part across motorbike, quad bikes, cars and truck categories.
