United aim for upset

FOOTBALL Federation Sunraysia S-League semi-final week is here.

While the league titles are already decided as the team on top of the ladder at the conclusion of the regular season, the grand final winners will be decided after an elimination finals series.

Mildura United almost got the job done over Irymple Knights in their final home and away game last week, and will be out to upset the title runners-up.

The 3-2 win for Knights was the closest contest of their season, having previously won 5-0 and 3-0 earlier in the campaign.

Meanwhile, Three Colours, fresh from qualifying for the finals with a 2-0 win over Nichols Point last week, face the tough task of taking on title winners Mildura City.

Coming off a bye after securing the 2023 senior men’s title, City are looking to win the double.

In senior women’s, Nichols Point and Irymple Knights go head-to-head again for the right to face champions Mildura City.

The Pointers will have the confidence following a 2-0 win last week led by a brace from young gun Maia Gowers.

All games are at Aero Ovals Soccer Park on Sunday.
