Next Generation Academy provides pathway to top

RICHMOND Football Club general manager of football Neil Balme says the club’s Next Generation Academy (NGA) program is vital for the development of football in Sunraysia.

The academies, launched in early 2016, are a joint initiative between the AFL and AFL clubs aimed at the attraction, retention and development of all talented players (male and female), while growing participation in the under-represented segments of the community.

Clubs are given regional zones, with Richmond allocated Sunraysia in line with what was the club’s old VFL recruiting zone.
