THERE was a golden glow suffusing the George Gordon Oval at Dareton in the wake of Wentworth’s upset four-point win over Robinvale Euston on Saturday.
It was more than just the late afternoon sunshine that illuminated the scene; it was a sense of justice and fitness that the Roos, who started as long-odds underdogs, had managed to reward an afternoon of admirable effort with four premiership points.
The outcome, and the manner in which it was manufactured, was a fitting tribute to two fine Wenty warriors in Matt Cameron and Phil Byrnes, who celebrated their 250th senior appearances in the best possible fashion.
