Youth coaches urged to focus on development

AFL SUNRAYSIA football development manager Trevor Ryan has called on junior coaches in Sunraysia to have more of a development mindset.

Following on from a junior coaches forum held on Monday night, Ryan will take a series of recommendations to the SFNL board aimed at keeping children engaged in the sport throughout their junior careers.

Close to 50 junior coaches from around Sunraysia attended the forum, facilitated by experienced VFL and TAC Cup coach David Newett, where Ryan stressed their importance to the direction of a young footballer’s career.
