Tough time for Carmichael

SUNRAYSIA footballer Josh Carmichael has backed his Nightcliff Northern Territory Football League Division 1 teammates to bounce back after a controversial weekend.

Carmichael, who after finishing the 2018 SFNL season with Merbein moved north to play for the Tigers, was front and centre as Nightcliff played Waratah in the qualifying final at the weekend, which had its result overturned on Monday from a Nightcliff win to a Waratahs win.

“In the last minute of the game I kicked a goal to tie it and then it went to overtime and we played two five-minute halves and won by 20-something points, then they’ve overturned it because it was meant to be the first score of overtime wins,” Carmichael said.
