FOR Robinvale-Euston’s Keagan Geran and James Zappia, the Eagles’ theme song lyrics “side by side we stick together” were especially true, as both under 18s players ended up in adjoining hospital rooms after Saturday’s grand final clash.
Both young guns were taken by ambulance to Mildura Base Hospital after Geran was floored in a sickening collision in the opening minutes and Zappia went down in the last quarter with a dislocated knee.
The game was stalled more than an hour in total.
