Caldwell to step down as coach

MILDURA playing coach Heath Caldwell stunned his charges before Saturday’s clash with Robinvale-Euston at City Oval by announcing he would be stepping down as coach after just one year in charge.

While not going into specifics about his shock decision, Caldwell said he had informed club management of his decision a few weeks ago.

“I am not coaching next year,” he said after the 32-point loss which saw his threadbare team finish with a 3-13 record and eighth on the table.
