FORTY years on and the memories of dual success still remain etched in folklore at Irymple.
This weekend, as the modern Swallows look to secure a finals position, the old heroes will be celebrating the club’s dual senior and reserves flags from 1978 on the sidelines.
That year the seniors, coached by Ron Hynes, defeated South Mildura 8.16 (64) to 5.9 (39) while the reserves won 6.6 (42) to 1.5 (11) over Red Cliffs.
