
BROWNLOW medallist Dane Swan says the AFL shouldn’t be too hasty on rule changes.
As the league debates new measures to counteract congestion the Collingwood legend, in town at a The Mildura Club function yesterday, said he agreed with former coach Nathan Buckley and Magpie captain Scott Pendlebury’s views on the issue despite admitting he doesn’t pay much attention to the game anymore.
“I haven’t watched a game closely enough for the past two years to have any thoughts on it but off the top of my head I’d say be careful about changing the rules. I’d probably side with Nathan (Buckley) and Scott (Pendlebury) a bit – the game will find its own way and sort itself out,” he said.
