Smooth sailing for coaches

TWO thirds of the way into his second season as Red Cliffs’ senior coach, Ash Connick says Brian Fenton’s addition as a playing co-coach has been a smooth transition.

Connick took over the reins at Quandong Park from Ben Ridley and Seb Cua for the 2017 season, when the Tigers finished with four wins and 12 losses to sit in eighth place, but this year – following the addition of Fenton and some smart off-season recruiting – are now third with eight wins and two losses.

Connick himself has moved from the district to Bendigo and commutes back for his coaching duties.
