SFNL: Red Cliffs won’t risk injured Jake Liston

RED Cliffs won’t risk gun recruit Jake Liston during a testing block of June fixtures as the forward-midfielder nurses an ankle injury.

Former North Adelaide SANFL player Liston sat out most of the Tigers’ 35-point win over South Mildura in round 6 of Sunraysia senior football action on Saturday after aggravating a complaint he has carried for more than a month.

Red Cliffs co-coach Brian Fenton said the Tigers would rest Liston for about a month and possibly until after the Tigers’ double bye in early July.

“He has carried it ever since the Imperials game (in round 2) and it’s just not getting better,” he said.
