SFNL: Irymple stocks to get a boost

IRYMPLE have several players on the brink of a return to senior football ahead of a 2017 grand final replay against Ouyen United.

Premiership players Nick Pezzaniti, Shea Allen and Liam Garlick are pushing for selection as the Swallows prepare for the trip to Blackburn Park on Saturday.

Irymple co-coach Todd George said Pezzaniti, who has been sidelined with a hamstring injury, was in the selection mix before their win over Wentworth at the weekend.

“(Pezzaniti) probably could have come back but we just wanted, at this stage of the year, to give it an extra week and take extra precautions,” George said.

“Shea Allen is starting to pin a few games together in reserves, he missed pre-season due to work commitments, so he’s nearly ready to come back into the senior side, and Liam Garlick is on the same note, he’s about ready to come back.
