Ouyen United injury list grows

INJURED Ouyen United key-position players Luke Stanbrook and Todd Barker are likely facing an extended stint on the sidelines.

The Kangas are counting the cost of their 65-point defeat of  Wentworth at George Gordon Oval on Saturday evening after Stanbrook (knee) and Barker (ankle) were stretchered off the ground with what appeared to be serious injuries.

Another star, Josiah Farrer, spent much of the second half on the bench with a hamstring complaint, but his withdrawal from the match was merely precautionary.

Stanbrook, who is understood to have twisted his knee, was the competition’s leading goalkicker going into Saturday with 19 goals, while Barker has played a key role through the ruck for the Kangas.

They will undergo scans this week to assess their injuries, but Ouyen United co-coach Andy Jardine yesterday admitted it “didn’t look good” for the key pair.
