MANY parents get to share sporting experiences with their children, whether it’s kick- to-kick in the backyard or cheering them on from the sidelines.
Few, however, get to experience playing alongside each other in the same team, let alone doing so in a sport as demanding on the body as football.
But for father and son Darren and Tylar Atkinson, a special moment was shared on Saturday afternoon at City Oval.
Both ran out for Imperials in their Sunraysia senior football clash with Red Cliffs, Darren taking on the ruck duties and Tylar, the assured 15-year-old rising star, down back.
