THE SFNL has cleared City Oval for use tomorrow despite initial concerns raised by Red Cliffs over the much-debated surface.
Red Cliffs play away to Imperials, with the league initiating an inspection yesterday with delegates from Imperials, Red Cliffs and the Mildura Rural City Council to check ground conditions.
“Red Cliffs voiced a few concerns after their initial inspection but we met down there as a group … after discussing with the council what they’ve done and put in place, all parties were in agreeance to go ahead with (the games),” SFNL executive officer Peter Walker said.
Walker conceded while the oval was right to play on, there were still some lingering issues with the state of the surface – that was redeveloped ahead of the 2017 SFNL season.
