Tears to turn to cheers for Lochie O’Brien

SHORTLY before 7.25pm tonight, at Hobart’s Blundstone Arena, Lochie O’Brien will run out with his Carlton teammates for his first official AFL match.

While those first steps on to the ground in front of thousands of Carlton and North Melbourne fans won’t take long, it is the culmination of years of hard work and dedication from the former South Mildura footballer.

While it is a special milestone in Lochie’s own career, it also marks a memorable occasion for his family, who have been right behind him since the early days at grounds around Sunraysia to now.
