Robinvale-Euston in the hunt

THE first ball of the season has yet to be bounced, but new Robinvale-Euston coach Andrew Richardson is excited by what he has seen so far.

The Eagles’ last pre-season hit-out, a 10-point win over against reigning premiers Irymple in the SFNL carnival at Dareton on Saturday, provided a confidence boost for the Eagles heading into round 1 against Wentworth.

While little can be read into the result itself, it was the manner of the win – bar some early wastefulness going forward – that pleased Richardson.

“It was all positive really, because we played a handful of kids who probably aren’t quite there yet but went to the level and were consistent for as long as we wanted to be,” Richardson said.
