Connick to coach Sunraysia interleague side after one-year hiatus: Ash in charge

DUAL SFNL premiership coach Ash Connick will once again take the reins of Sunraysia’s interleague football campaign.

The Red Cliffs non-playing mentor, who coached Wentworth to the 2001 flag and Mildura to the 2007 title, had coached Sunraysia in 2015 and 2016 against the South East Football League and Wimmera Football League before the region’s hiatus last season.

SFNL board member Bernard Rigby, who carries the board’s interleague portfolio, said Connick was looking forward to taking on the role against neighbours Central Murray on May 19 in Swan Hill.

“He’s a pretty successful coach, a premiership-winning senior coach,” Rigby said.
