FORMER South Mildura footballer Lochie O’Brien showed glimpses of potential in his first full hit-out for Carlton in the JLT Community Series on Wednesday night.
The 18-year-old, taken at pick 10 in the 2017 national draft, collected eight touches in Carlton’s 22-point win over St Kilda at Ikon Park and, despite a couple of errors, earned praise from some senior teammates.
O’Brien was somewhat overshadowed by fellow debutant Paddy Dow, with the Swan Hill local collecting 13 disposals and kicking two goals, but Carlton leadership group member Matthew Kreuzer was positive about the influence both had on the game.
