Budgie legs belie ‘Chicken’s’ power

OUYEN United veteran Matt Palmer is an all-around nice guy with an infectious personality who everyone wants to know, enjoy a beer with and have a chat to.

He’s a builder by trade, but a wrecker of opposition teams on game day.

He’s got legs like a budgerigar, but he runs like a gazelle.

“Chicken” came to Underbool from Swan Hill with his best mate Vaughn Noonan in 2007 and the small Mallee town is now his home.

He met his wife Jane (Lynch) – whose brother Chris is named in defence in today’s reserve’s side – at a football club function soon after arriving.
