SFNL grand final: Dan Coghlan expects nerves

MCLEOD Medal joint runner-up Dan Coghlan says the nerves will come ahead of his first senior grand final.

The 26-year-old former Essendon VFL captain and now Irymple star hasn’t played in a grand final since his junior days at Wesburn in the Yarra Valley – where he had won and lost a grand final.

But despite that lack of experience on the big stage, he was determined not to let that faze him.

“I try not to worry abut it, I just take it as another game,” Coghlan said.

“But I’m sure when I’m watching the seconds play (tomorrow) there will start to be a few butterflies.”
