Petelo Vave simply the best

ROBINVALE/Euston’s Petelo Vave took out last night’s Casey Medal as the SFNL’s best and fairest under 18s footballer at the count held at Mildura FNC Function Centre.

Vave polled 16 votes to pip Red Cliffs young gun Brody Stone by one, with Vave’s teammate Cosi Ienco third on 14 votes.

It was a hot start to the season for Vave, who polled seven votes in his first four games – including a best on ground in round 5.

Another best on ground in round 7 was followed by two vote games in rounds 9, 16 and 17 to close out the win.
