Robinvale/Euston hit home, Merbein miss

FAST-finishing Robinvale/Euston made the most of their chances against inaccurate and wasteful Merbein at City Oval.

In a first semi-final contest that made up for its numerous skill errors and turnovers with a grandstand finish, the Eagles ran over the top of the Magpies in the last few minutes after trailing all day.

Magpie Marlon Kelly had one last chance to win it for Merbein, but his set shot from 40m sailed out of bounds on the full as the final siren sounded.

Robinvale/Euston coach Peter Zappia said he never doubted his side’s ability to finish strongly.
