Mildura prove their point

AFTER missing out last year, Mildura turned up with a point to prove in their return to under 18 finals, spoiling Red Cliffs’ first appearance since 2012.

Both teams finished the regular season with 12 wins so a hard-fought battle was expected, which was evident in the first half with only a point separating the scores at each of the opening two breaks.

They will now meet the loser of this weekend’s semi between Robinvale/Euston and Irymple at City Oval.

Mildura broke away in the second half, as they were able to lock the ball in their half of the ground and convert in front of goal.

The performance pleased coach Ashley Spencer.
